Job Summary

As a PR Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support our PR efforts by conducting publications research and outreach to media outlets and influencers. You will work closely with our internal team and external agencies to enhance our media presence and build strong relationships with key publications.

The ideal candidate should be highly organised, a strong communicator, and adept at research and outreach strategies.

Key Responsibilities

- Research: Identify and research relevant media outlets, industry publications, and influencers in our field to target for PR opportunities.

- Media List Development: Create and maintain a comprehensive media contact database, keeping it up to date with relevant journalist and influencer information.

- Press Release Distribution: Assist in the distribution of press releases to targeted media contacts, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

- Media Outreach: Proactively reach out to journalists, bloggers, and influencers to pitch story ideas, news releases, and interview opportunities.

- Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media contacts, responding to inquiries.

- Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor media coverage and compile media reports to track the success of PR campaigns.

- Content Creation: Assist in the creation of PR materials, such as press releases, media kits, and pitch emails.

- Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative duties, such as scheduling meetings, managing email communications, and maintaining PR databases.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field preferred; relevant work/internship experience is a plus.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Excellent organisational and research abilities.

- Proficiency in PR tools and platforms.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality work.
